Food and drink must meet certain standards - it must be safely edible or drinkable!. The date applied to beer (or any food for that matter) is the last date that the manufacturer is prepared to guarantee optimum taste/freshness!. If you choose to eat or drink a product beyond that date, then you have no lawful comeback on the manufacturer (clever, huh!?)

Bacterial growth is a factor in determining the sell by/drink by dates!. If this date is exceeded, there is a raised possibility that bacterial growth will render your booze very unhealthy!. (depends on the brand really)

Another thing that has just occurred to me - some booze continues fermenting within the bottle!. This may lead to build up of gasses creating explosive pressures!. Given that most booze is sold in glass bottles!.!.!. nuff said!. So ditch the booze and get fresh!.

While you could still drink this beer from 2006 (make sure there is still an air-tight seal), and certainly get drunk, it would lack the taste and qualities you would associate with the brand!. (ie: taste like Sh**!)

Drink sensibly now! (hee-hee-hee)Www@FoodAQ@Com

They would most likely be flat!. I tried a fairly old beer once and it was flat!. Still tasted like beer, but flat and therefore foul!. I wouldn't recommend it after two years though, although they are sealed, who knows what sort of reactions may have happened!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i actuly find beer out of a can tastes nicer when out of date than when its in date haha its not as god thn on tap obviusly!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

u can drink em, just wont be very nice, cud have a good kick to them tho, make u super drowsy!.!.!. give u one hell of a hangover!Www@FoodAQ@Com
