The fact that your dad is an alcoholic has a LOT, if not everything, to do with the fact that you have a higher tolerance!. Hence reason why you need to be careful when you drink, you can reach a very high level of "drunk" without even realizing it!.

This could either cause you to black out or even have intoxication!. also, because you do have a high tolerance you are more likely to believe that you are not drunk and continue to drink on an unhealthy basis, making you more prone to becoming an alcoholic yourself!.

So be careful, typically when a parent is alcoholic children inherit those tendencies and are automatically more likely to become alcoholics themselves!. You shouldn't even be drinking, you're so young!. So definitely be careful!.

PS: There is a correlation between genetics and tendency to become an alcoholic!.

"There is a growing body of scientific evidence that alcoholism has a genetic component, but the actual gene that may cause it has yet to be identified!.

Studies of laboratory animals as well as human test subjects indicate that genetic factors play a major role in the development of alcoholism, but just how much a factor remains undetermined!.

Children of alcoholics are four times more likely than other children to become alcoholics, according to the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, but environmental factors could be a factor in many of those cases!."Www@FoodAQ@Com

Depends on what you ate, how long between shots, and how long you stayed up to weigh the effects!. Most credible sources say 1 ounce of spirits can be metabolically processed per hour, at 14 you may have a higher metabolic rate that can clear the alcohol faster!. As for your dad, alcoholism is an addiction and a brain chemistry issue not a genetic tolerance to alcohol!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Seven shots of JD!!!! You shouldn't even be drinking at 14!.

If you are looking to have a good time, you could volunteer as a Big Brother to a less fortunate young man in life!. That would make you feel good about what you are doing as well as setting a good example for others!.

You don't have to drink to have a good time!. If your dad is an alcoholic obviously you didn't learn anything from his sickness if you are drinking hard liquor at 14!.

You really should find a different path in life!. At 14 you could get involved in so many different good things!.!. !. !. to make yourself a better person!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

your tolerance is due to body mass!.!.!.not genetics

genetically, your predisposition to alcoholism is 5 times greater

socially, since your father leads you to believe the over-consumption of alcohol is repsonsible, you will be far more likely to follow his example

since you have already begun exhibiting the classic symptoms of 'risk' behaviors, at 14, my best estimate for you is that you will have your 1st of several DUI's by your 18th birthday

so please remember not to drink and drive!.!.!.!.!.(fat chance for that too)
you have your mind all made up
so remember this chat as you are visitng your friends in the pokey, where they put drinkers!.!.!.!.for drinking (pure and simple)

but, doooon't take my word for it
you 'da man!!! you da' smart one!.!.!.so be smart, please

Hope you believe me

JD is top shelf stuff, and is high potency for an adult, let alone a child!

Your asking for big time troubles, with your health, school and your whole life, let alone the legal aspects of drinking as a minor child you can be in deep trouble for! Not only that, but if your father is letting you drink, he can be in big doo doo too!. The law can put him in jail, and put you in a group home or a foster home!. So you need to get your life back on track, before something serious goes wrong, something you might nor be able to handle!. Take care of yourself! Get help, for you and for your father, before it is too late!. Being an alcoholic WILL make you deathly sick! You may not feel it now!. But believe ME, it WILL catch up to you!.

I was raised in a bar scene; I've seen it happen to the best! I was also raised to be responsible with drinking, to limit myself!. I had sips, not whole glasses or cans of alcohol as a teen!. But, I never really got into drinking until I was of age!. Later I learned that there was MORE to LIFE than drinking! You need to learn that, and become a responsible person!. Right now the alcohol is being responsible for you, not you being responsible for yourself, or the way you hand alcohol!. So please, take control of your life, seek out for a counselor, a pastor, a trusted teacher, or the school nurse!. Tell them your problems and they can help and guide you, give them a chance! You might be surprised! Things can work out fine to your advantage! It might not seem it at first, but all things takes time!. Best way in life is you control you, not other teens, not drugs, not alcohol!. You can change, and the benefits of change can be good, sometimes it takes time to see the benefits of change!. You have to be patient! YOU make life what it is!.

There is so much MORE to LIFE, son! TAKE TIME TO SEE THE BEAUTY IN LIFE, DON'T WASTE IT! You are loved!

14 seems a little young to be drinking!.!.!.wait atleast another 2 years, or better yet wait till youre 21!
just because your father is an alcoholic now doesnt mean that you inherited his tolerance!. while things like alcohol tolerance can be inherited, that doesnt mean that you inherited his tolerance while he was an alcoholic!.!.!.
14 and drinking to have a good time are 2 things that just dont mix!. just wait a few more years!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think you mean "an alcoholic"!. That plus the fact that you're drinking at 14 spells serious trouble!. What you see as being cool, everybody else sees as a red flag!. Alcoholism can be hereditary and it ruins lives!.

P!.S!. This is probably how it started for you father, too, Talk to him about it!.

P!.P!.S!. "beleive"!?!?!? "responsable"!?!?!? Put down the bottle and pick up a dictionary!. The more you post, the sadder your story gets!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You are only 14 and your already drinking!? OMG! Someone please help this poor kid!. PUT THE BOTTLE DOWN AND GET HELP!!!! Your not drinking to have a good time or to be cool your drinking to get drunk so you can "try" to forget about whatever it is your bottling up!. Please stop drinking and talk to someone!. Do you have any family you can talk to!? What about a friends parents or "parental unit"!. I am praying for you!. Please get the help you need and deserve and remember this is not your fault!. Good luck!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you actually drunk seven shots like in an hour of jd and really wasn't that drunk, then yeah you got high tolerance!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
