Wanting to purchase a beer home brew kit. ?!
I've been searching all morning for a quality home brewing kit!. I want it to have everything I need!. It looks like some require further purchases later!. Any advice would be helpful!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
Buying a home brewing "kit" is so anti-home brewing!.
Buy Charlie Papazian's Joy of Home Brewing book, then go scour for the bushes for the parts you need!. Half the fun of this is building your own stuff out of parts you find at garage sales/hardware stores etc!.!.
The only thing you should buy is the raw ingredients and maybe a couple food grade plastic buckets and the gizmo that measures specific gravity of the wort!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

The reason kits do not include all ingredients and equipment required to brew a beer is cost and choice!. To include all the kettles and capers etc!. greatly increases the price and would discourage many from even trying the hobby!. also the particular items in a kit may not be preferred by each person and so the shop keeper ends up trading out and mix N matching items!. So price and choice is left to the customer by compiling kits of minimum items needed to brew!.
Yet also consider that many people have items such as a large stock pot to use for boiling and needs only to clean it very well for brewing!. This saves $$ from an additional purchase!.
So as stated it may be best to visit a local home-wine and brewing supply store!. They will advise what is required for your first batch of beer!. If the hobby turns out not to be your thing you have benefited by not over-purchasing equipment!. also there is many types of each kettle, hoses, filters, kegs to choose from and experience will help you determine what is best for you!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
