Answers:
I've never been certified, and I got a good start at a little family owned restaurant!. I won't say it was totally easy, because I wanted to make the drinks like the customers were accustomed to!. And one of the owners taught me basics, but yet I'd have to try to get her out of the kitchen to help with blender drinks! Anyway, it got a lot easier after a week!. A family place is a lot slower and gives you time to pick up on routines and such!.

I think I lost a bartending job about 4 years ago because I wasn't pretty or sexy enough!. I had an hour long interview with the GM at a country club, aced all the drinks, but they hired a good looking guy with absolutely no experience!. I found that out by running into him at a temp job we both worked at!.

So!. You know your drinks, pin your smile on, look great and be outgoing, and put your apps in everywhere until someone bites!. But I swear it's better to start out at a slower paced place!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i would start out with a place with fewer clients so you don't feel overwhelmed and can take your time making the drinks and getting used to the atmosphere!. i suggest putting an application at places like restaurants like applebees, TGIFridays, Carabba's, places like that!. Putting in the application is the easy part but most employers like girls who are very outgoing, friendly, kind of flirty without overdoing it & it also doesn't hurt to be cute!. Good luck Www@FoodAQ@Com
