Moonshine price during prohibition?!

Answers:
There were actually two classes of moonshine offered: the real moonshine, which was distilled in makeshift stills and sold in gallon ceramic or pottery jugs plugged with a cork!. Many people made their own for home use and for parties!. The "revenooers" which were the revenue tax agents, spent years attempting to eradicate the home stills, which were hidden in mountainous regions and back hills in Kentucky, etc!. Back alley bars bought the moonshine; many men lost their lives getting liquored up and cheating at poker in the back rooms!. A glass of moonshine was a nickel!.
The other "moonshine" was imported and known as distilled spirits!. One of the men who became extremely wealthy was Joe Kennedy (he illegally ran liquor into the U!.S!.), who was married to Rose Kennedy!. You might recognize three of their sons: President John F!. Kennedy, Senator Robert Kennedy (both of whom were assassinated) and Senator Ted Kennedy, who is currently undergoing treatment for a cancerous brain tumor that was removed recently!. Distilled spirits
in the twenties went for three bits (seventy-five cents) to three dollars per drink, depending upon where the revelers chose to party!. Joe Kennedy also sold bathtub gin which, believe this or not, actually was mixed in home bathtubs in places like Manhattan!.
Hope this is of help to you!. I don't know how much a bottle sold for because the bottles used were recycled and different sizes!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
