I lived in Florida when those 7 hurricanes hit a few years back!.!.!. and everyone of them I had a hurricane party, or neighbors on my street did!. I wouldn't have actually had them if we needed to evacuate but we were on higher elevations!. Are neighborhood was a close knit group and many of our relatives would evacuate to our homes so we would make a party out of it!. Not the night before during the actual storms!. We would have snacks and cocktails!.!.!. its tough during those times because no one can really go anywhere, so mind as well tough out the storms with family and friends!. We have had many hurricane parties at the places I have lived along the Atlantic coast and now here in Houston!. I have had some of my best times at hurricane parties ;-))
But they don't usually happen with a storm like IKE!.!.!.there is no one left in town to party and no way to get home after you get loaded! (I live in Houston right on the mainline of the storm IKE)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm from Virginia where we get a lot of storms from Tropical Depressions to full on hurricanes!. The night before storms, my family would go to my grandma's house and play board games, drinking games, and hide and go seek in the dark (after the electricity went out)!. It was crazy!Www@FoodAQ@Com
actually the party lasts from the last moment you cant drive until the storm is completely over!. i have had some good times ;) at my hurricane parties when i lived in florida!.
