Why do one consume american beer ice cold?!
Can't wait to hear the "best" answer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
The cold numbs your taste buds and makes you temporarily forget the fact that most of it is pi*s!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Because it prevents you from actually being able to "taste" it!. Same with the Guinness Draught bottles that say "Serve Extra Cold" and "Drink Straight from the Bottle!." The idea is to suppress the flavor (this is especially true of Guinness Draught, where you can taste it getting worse as you drink it)!.
Beers that actually put an effort into their taste (and as such are generally more expensive) should be consumed at closer to room temperature and out of a glass, so you can actually enjoy the flavor!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Because American, macro lager beers are boring, fizzy, yellow and taste awful if not cold enough to at least numb the senses so it seems like what you're drinking isn't nearly as bad as it actually is!.
That said, there is a huge selection of American, craft, micro-brewed ale that is enjoyed by many people who actually care about what their beer tastes like!. In fact, I think that American craft brewers are making some of the best India Pale Ale in the entire world!. Unfortunately, most of it is only available regionally!.
So from Hefeweizens to Imperial Russian Stouts, there is some great beer in America that is enjoyed a little warmer than your typical Budweiser or light beer!. More and more places even serve real, cask-conditioned ale served from an authentic hand pump and consumed at a tasty, not-too-cold temperature!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Because the colder it is, the less you can taste it!. Beers with a lot of good flavor are actually better off slightly cool, but horrible swill you find in a can is best ice cold because you can't taste how bad it is!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Not just American beer, but also Canadian Beer!. I assume you are referring drinking warm (room temperature) beer to most Europeans!. We North Americans enjoy our cold brew, especially after a long day, mowing lawn or working hard outside!. Its more refreshingWww@FoodAQ@Com
Because it's better than trying to consume it frozen!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
