Why can't you use the term 'snakebite' in a pub anymore?!

Question: Why can't you use the term 'snakebite' in a pub anymore!?
I was told that if you wanted a snakebite drink in a pub or bar, you had to basically ask for "Cider, blackcurrant and lager all in one glass", as you can't call it 'snakebite' anymore!. I got told they won't serve you if you call it that!.

Is it true, and if it is, why is that!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I don't know for sure but I used to work in a pub and I was told we were not allowed to serve 'Snakebites', because they can get you very drunk and are a potent combination!. They have a kind of bad reputation!. God knows if this is actually the reason though!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

That is what you get when you leave the USA
the bar keep makes the law because there are so many variations
I know 4 now
so rather that seem dumb they just put you out!.
snake bite #3 is Canadian Whiskey and white Cream de Menthe
stuff that with your wimpy Cider and beerWww@FoodAQ@Com

Due to Yukon Jack canadian whiskey coming out with, copywriting, and marketing the drink "Snakebite"!. It's like when you order a coke, and they have to tell you they only have Pepsi!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've not asked for a snakebite for a few years, I'll try it sometime and see what happens!.
I've never heard of anyone being refused a snakebite though!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

They'll still serve u but ask u to make sure it's the right mixture!.!.!.

it's just bosses being uptight, all bar staff know what a snakebite isWww@FoodAQ@Com
