Wine, not refrigerated...what happens to it?!

Question: Wine, not refrigerated!.!.!.what happens to it!?
My gf used a bottle of white wine for making risotto about a month ago!. The bottle has been sitting outside on the counter since that time!. What has happened to the wine!? Is it drinkable or consumable at this point, or should I just throw it out (what a tragic waste in that case!.!.!.)!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Contact with air when the bottle has been opened has caused it to oxidize, in a nut shell you have a bottle of vinegar!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Toss that thing, it's long since become undrinkable!. In fact, if it's been a month, it wouldn't be drinkable even if you had refrigerated it!. Opened wine has a very short lifespan, usually three or so days under the best of circumstances!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Its contact with air that will make it go bad, so I guess it depends on how much of it she used and if its been corked back up!. They sometimes displace air in bottles with inert gas to make the wine last!.

Taste it!. If it tastes Ok go ahead and drink it!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

its no good now ,but for a hint next time, if you freeze the wine in ice trays it can be used for cooking later on!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
