Are you able to blind taste light ales (Bitters, Light Ale) and light lagers (Pils, Munich, Helles)?!

Question: Are you able to blind taste light ales (Bitters, Light Ale) and light lagers (Pils, Munich, Helles)!?
If blind tasting a Helles can you tell if it is Helles or Munich or Vienna lager!?

Can you blind taste a English Bitter from a Light Ale or IPA!?

I have never considered doing this until now and plan on a test run soon!. I am curious if others have and their results!.

I have heard that most people can not detect the difference between a Bud or Coors under blind fold!. Is it true for most beer styles or similar beer styles!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think this one of the best questions, at least on judging, I have seen on this blog!.

No!. I say no because I have never tried and I think it would be very difficult!.

Yes!. Because with an intensive training regime covering style parameters crossover one can develop the skills in detection of related styles!. This being true even when the styles studied have closely detectable flavor notes!. it is just a matter of continuous training with the style comparison an ongoing focal point!.

I have failed the Bud Coors challenge in the pasty but now I am capable of detecting the difference which is very subtle!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have not done this but expect to be a challenge!.
I have done the Bud Vs Coors blind tasting a few people can get it right-with a strong assurance!.
Tasting beers of the same type or style is what I have done with some interesting results!. It is very difficult to blind taste any beverage(s) by style!. I say I can tell that they are different styles of beer but not necessarily what actual style it is!.

***NOTE*** I am confident of testing beers without a blind tasting set up!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you can taste the difference - but not everyone can!. Some people have higher sensitivity in their taste buds, and you can't really change that!. So i guess the people with more sensitivity can!. Or maybe if you are an avid beer drinker you could tell!. I know i can tell between bud and coors bc i think bud is gross!! I'm sure there is probably more depth to it than that for people who do this as a serious hobby (like wine tasters) I think that sounds like a fun idea and I'd be interested to know how it comes out!.!.!. It is definately possible!.
My mate manages a pub and blind tested me with four different beers!. He didn't even tell me what they were and I guessed what 3 out of 4 were!. The 4th one I thought tasted quite alot like the 1st one!. Turned out it was the same one!! The cheeky little bugger tried to trick me!!
Anyway, there were 2 bitters, an ale and a larger!.
It is possible, different beers do taste different!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No it is not true, but you have to be a avid beer connoisseur lol if you want to call it too really tell the difference! I homebrew and have a pretty good palate but still get stumped, hey it is fun to try though!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
