Answers:
These are very different beers one is dark and heavy and the other, well it depends on where you get Heinekin!. Guiness will be served warmer because you want to taste it while Heinekin will likely be served cold to kill the odor and the flavor if in North America!. If you are getting Heinekin in North America it is pure swill in my opinion but if you like Bud, Bud Light, or clone thereof then in North America Heinekin is another Bud clone!. In Europe Heinekin actually distributes very good beer!.

It's bad enough that North Americans feel the need to ruin beer by pasturizing it!. Sure pasturization makes sense with something like milk but sterilizing an alcoholic drink, it's just stupid!. Now they have to make it worse by putting beer in green or uncolored bottles!. What ruins beer fast!? Sunlight, clear has no protection from the sun and green bottles have little protection as well!. Beer should be bottled in dark colored bottles to protect it, if it's worth protecting!.

If you are in North America be adventurous and try an American beer, they have come a long way!. Sam Adams, the largest US owned brewery makes some excellent beers as does Red Hook!. There are just so many good American beers to choose from but if you really feel the need to drink a bud clone then why not just save yourself a few bucks and buy the real thing!? Or for that matter Olympia or Old Milwaukee, sure they suck but after the first couple they taste like Budweiser anyway!. ;)

Richard has a good suggestion but don't ruin it with Killian's!. Killian's is an Anheuser Busch beer not an Irish beer!. If you want to try a black and tan consider Harp or if you can't find that then Bass will do in a pinch!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

heineken is a lager and is ok but is mass produced and pretty uninspiring
guinness is great stout
both are produced by other breweries outside of there home countries so if your drinking guinness or heineken outside ireland or the netherlands!. your drinking a replica that's not quite as good as the real thing
Guinness is better! Www@FoodAQ@Com

I like Guinness by itself, but my favorite is a drink my buddy turned me onto!. He calls it black and tan!. Take a large glass and pour in a bottle of Guinness and after it settles some!. Pour in a bottle of Killian's Irish Red!. The two will separate in the glass, but mix when you drink them!. It rocks!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There is no better or worse!.
Guinness is very bitter, and has a burnt aftertaste!. It's an acquired taste, I doubt that you'll like it right off!. Heineken is good, but it's a little, I don't know,!.!.!.soda pop to me!. I'll drink it, but there's no reason to pay so much for it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Guinness is vastly superior to Heineken!. Particularly if you like good beer!. If you prefer pig swill!.!.!.Heineken will do quite nicely!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
