Can I use my passport as ID to buy alcohol?!

Question: Can I use my passport as ID to buy alcohol!?
I'm going to turn 18 on Wednesday, and as such I won't have an ID card in time for me to buy alcohol!. Can I use my passport as an ID card, even if my picture is from when I was 14!? It's still valid, and shows my date of birth!.

Thanks!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
