What does the term Finger of Beer mean?!

Question: What does the term Finger of Beer mean!?
Well yeah, I live in the UK and I've never heard of it before!. Neither have any of my friends and it keeps coming up in drinking games and so we just take a shot instead!.!.!. Needless to say, we get through a lot of spirit!

So what does "take a finger of beer" mean!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
A finger of beer refers to a small amount of beer consumed in one action from a glass bottle!.

Imagine your holding a bottle of beer, with your fingers gripping round it, a finger of beer is the amount that needs to be consumed in order to reduce the level of the beer in the bottle by one fingers width lower!.

It basically just means drink a mouth full of beer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've only heard the term in reference to whiskey, not beer!. A finger is simply a measurement equal to the first finger on your hand!. Sounds like your friend is using this measurement (probably because he likes the sound of it) in his drinking games!. I'm pretty sure the term is American from the days of the old west!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
