Why is most/all booze put in glass bottles rather than plastic?!
it makes things so much heavier etc!. i would think perhaps that the alcohol leeches something out from plastic so they dont do it because of taste etc but i found that in the usa smirnoff puts big bottles of vodka in plastic, which made buying duty free sooo much easier to carry!.!. so, whats the deal!? btw the vodka tasted fine!.!. Glass was invented before plastic and is a leftover from the past!. There is now a gradual shift from glass to plastic containers!. However plastic is posing a problem in the recycling industry as you well know!. Glass is recyclable but transport is more expensive due to weight!. Modern plastics do not taint the contents as can be shown in milk!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
plastic is cheaper to produce, but there are some that think it leaches more chemicals into the food/drinks than glass!.

both glass and plastic can be recycled fairly easily these days, so ignore the comments about one being detrimental to the environment being a reason they sell liquor in glass!.!.!. if that was true, why isn't most soda sold in glass!?

usually the cheaper booze is in plastic bottles!.!.!.makes it cheaper for everyone!. You can find decent booze in plastic, but anything top shelf will be glass!. I also like to put my whiskey in the freezer, i think that may have something to do with it Www@FoodAQ@Com
A cold galss bottle is way better than the plastic ones you get at sporting events!. Beer tastes better and stays colder in glass!. A glass bottle is way more classy than plastic!. MCcormick's vodka only comes in plastic!. Grey Goose vodka only comes in glass!. Nuf said Www@FoodAQ@Com
Plastic allows oxygen to penetrate the alcohol more easily than glass!. When oxygen is introduced to alcohol, a reaction called oxidation occurs making the alcohol not taste how the maker intended it to!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
the hydroxy functional groups of the alcohol slowly degrades polymers like plastic!. the big bottles you find in the store are coated but they still have an expiration date!. you won't find an expiration date on good booze!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Smirnoff vodka and Canadian Club whiskey come in plastic bottles!. the smaller sizes anyway!. I bought a bunch of them to take to Europe with me!. They were so much easier then glass!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
