Making homemade wine & no gas seems to be flowing through my air-lock.?!
I am making wine for the first time!. I bought a complete kit, juice, etc!. I followed the directions to a tee!. I just racked it into my glass carboy & attached the air-lock and the bung!. Unfortunately, I don't have any bubbles coming up through the airlock!. How could there not be any carbon dioxide (I think) coming out!? Is this going to have a huge impact on my wine!?

Are you doing your primary fermentation in the carboy or did you just transfer it to the carboy from a pail!? If it's the second case then you're probably ok!. Usually by the time you go to secondary fermentation most of the fermentation is already done!. If it's the first case and you've waited a few days then there's something wrong!. Firstly, I wouldn't do primary fermentation in a carboy as there's no room for the foam to go!. Secondly, the yeast may have been dead or there may not be enough dissolved oxygen in the juice!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Some possibilities:
1) There wasn't enough live yeast in the package you used to get the process started yet!. Wait a bit!.
2) There was no live yeast in the package!. You would have to re-pitch if this were true (unlikely)!.
3) The temperature is too cold for the yeast!. Raise it!.
4) The stopper is not in the carboy tightly and carbon dioxide is escaping there!. Push it in tighter!.
The chances are that your wine will be fine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you just started the process, you have to wait for the pressure in the bottle to get high enough for it to start dumping it off!. There needs to be some sort of grace period!. Wait a day and check again!.
Otherwise you can always try, try again!. The good thing about making your own wine is that it's cheap!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
