Kind of a strange question, but how should i introduce myself to drinking?!

Question: Kind of a strange question, but how should i introduce myself to drinking!?
i'm 17 and i have never drunk or gotten drunk!. i've only tasted sips of beer and wine, everything else is a mystery to me!.
i have no desire or care to get myself drunk!.
my only worry is this- what if when im older and i am extremely stressed out with financial issues, love life, etc all those adult problems, i choose to drink!. then would i get hooked on drinking because it lets me escape my problems!? or should i try drinking now when life is dandy so that i dont get addicted!? do my thoughts even make senseWww@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Actually the sooner you start drinking the more likely you are to develop a problem with drinking at least it's that way in the US!. Strange how things like that work!. But if you are worried about developing a problem then the last thing you want to do is start drinking now!. You will as you grow older learn other ways to deal with stress that don't involve drinking and therefore be less likely to turn to the bottle when you are upset!.
When you get old enough to drink then drink socially only or have a glass of red wine with dinner each night (one glass of red wine a night is actually really good for your heart) and leave it at that!. If you set limits for yourself in your drinking you are more likely to develop healthy drinking habits!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's good that you have never been drunk, especially as a 17 year old with peer pressure and whatnot!. If you would like to introduce yourself to drinking, don't do it by getting wasted because this is an unhealthy approach to drinking alcohol!. If you want to start drinking, do it just a little bit, and stick to things with small percentages like beer or bourbon and coke!. If you are uncomfortable trying new and unknown drinks then just stick with beer and wine!. Better the devil you know!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Since you re 17 you should introduce your self to drinking very slowly, like over a four year period!. For the first two years you can start by reading the labels, over the next two years you can start saving your money for a bottle and taking a occasional whiff to get used to the aroma and then finally when you turn 21 you can go out and buy a bottle and enjoy responsibly!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
