Will a sage green go okay with a cranberry looking carpet,if I match right?!

Absolutely! To help you decide, you could go to the paint section of any local store that sells paint and gather some of the paint sample color cards close to the color of your cranberry carpet!. Next pick up a few cards of different greens!. You may find a green other than sage that you like better!. To compliment these two colors add a couple of "yellow" cards!. Mustard yellow would really make the sage and cranberry pop! Even more complimentary would be to add a splash of "plum" colors!. These colors in any combination are perfect together!. You could use them as wall colors, for the furniture, throw pillows, pictures, etc!. My daughter used these colors for her fall wedding and it was beautiful! I'm excited for you and your decorating!.
