Answers:
A lot of people act like idiots when they get drunk and say and do things they wouldn't normally say or do!. I knew a guy who got drunk and stabbed his mate to death as a joke, another guy who tipped petrol all over his mate and was about to light his mate up!.
So does alcohol bring out the real you I don't think so it just makes you do stupid things!.
When people do those stupid things other people say that person can't hold their drink they don't say that is the real person coming out!. It is the other side of the person just the ignorant rude side!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's all psychological in my opinion!. However, that being said, alcohol does block certain neurotransmitters in your brain that deal with inhibitions, judgment, and perception of reality!. But let's get away from all that scientific mumble jumble and take a look at it a bit closer!.!.!.

In one corner of the room sits Jim!. Normally Jim is a bookworm, he's quiet at work, keeps to himself, and mainly associates with close friend's!. Jim is a pretty quiet guy, wouldn't hurt no one, and does well in all aspects of his life!. After a few beers and a few shots Jim becomes a bit rowdy, he's swearing, bumping fists with friend's, and flirting with all the girls!. A few more shots go by and Jim get's more rowdy, he's picking on his friend's, making wild passes at women, and looking like a fool!.

Do you think that is Jim's true personality!? Do you think Jim is really loud, physical, and a womanizer when he tosses the booze back!? Or do you think it is the ALCOHOL distorting his perception of reality, inhibitions, and judgment!?

I'd say it's the alcohol myself!. I don't think Jim's true personality is that of a loud, physical, and overly aggressive womanizer!.

Alcohol affects people in many different ways, but I don't think that is anywhere near a true representation of that persons' true personality!.

I've seen people do things completely out of character from their true selves when they start drinking and they all have one thing in common!.!.!.EVERYTHING they drank that night had ALCOHOL in it! It's the alcohol distorting their perception of reality, their inhibitions, and judgment!.

I've only been drunk once, but it is a lot like yourself when you are tired!. your personality is a lot like when you are sleepy!. You feel like you really don't care about the consequences, to some extent!. therefore, it makes you braver and stupider sometimes!. I've been around alot of people who drink, and they are good examples of the stupider part of drinking!. if you are quiet whne you are tired then you will become quiet when you are drunk!. In my case, i am just crazy with laughter and dancing without care of what other people will think!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I can speak only for my self a recovering happy go lucky alcoholic ,most of my stupidity was put on not really meaning no harm ,but as playfulness can lead to fights, and trouble ,most people looking from the outside will see this as liquid courage, ask that person the next day when he sobers up and the first words will be (I hope I never get like that again!.)After saying those words for 15 years ,it's been 15 years since I 've said them now!. I don't think for a minute that was the real me!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Oh it does, yeah you see a different person when your friend or when you are drunk, i guess you do things that you wouldnt usually because you worry of what people would think but when you're drunk you dont care and you let yourself free, whether it be your favourite movie scene re-enactment or saying what you feel bout a person you really like or not really like you say it!. It does bring you great confidence but the consequences can be good or really bad, most of time though happens to be bad lol!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It doesn't bring out your *real* personality per se!.

As communal creatures, all of us have *shields* that we raise or drop, according to the company we are in!. When we are surrounded by strangers, we may have our shields at 5× maximum - because we don't want to embarrass ourself or cause someone discomfort!. So we are very wary of what we say and do!. However, around trusted friends and family, we may only have our shields at quarter!. We know them, and know they won't take what we say the wrong way!.

The problem with alcohol is it lowers our natural defenses - our shields!. Normally, we may be very courteous to our boss (for example), because our job depends on us NOT telling them what we really think about them!. But after one too many at the staff Christmas party (a notorious minefield for the employed), our defenses are down!. And when the boss says something (maybe trying to be funny), but which the intoxicated person misinterprets - the filter that we have firmly placed on our tongue during office hours is on a coffee break, and the employee will let the boss have both barrels!.

This is why you should NEVER have too much of a good time at a *work do*!. Because alcohol is notorious for taking your inhibitions and sending them to Valparaiso for a long deserved vacation; and your ego (which you normally have in check) runs amok!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It lowers your inhibitions and makes you more likely to do and say what you're thinking/feeling at the moment!. However, it also distorts your perceptions rather significantly!. (Basically, you're more likely to hit on a hottie when you're drunk, but you're also more likely to think that someone who really isn't even vaguely attractive is hot!.)Www@FoodAQ@Com

sometimes someone might say something that they really think but for the most part i would say that it's not true!.!.you say things you don't mean and later (if you remember them) you really regret it!.!.!.alcohol does not show the real person that you are!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It can lower your inhibitions, which is why it is sometimes referred to as courage in a bottle, botled bravery, liquid courage, or liquid bravery!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

YES!. it is absolutely true!. It brings out a side of you that you keep hiddne or to urself, alcohol can bring out the "real" you i guess!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i know when i drink i cant stop telling the truth!.!.!.even if it gets me in trouble!. i start saying things that i would normally just think and never say!.!.!.but of course i say themWww@FoodAQ@Com

most of the time yes!. some are good nights some are bad!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yes i seem to not care about what people think or their feelings, which could be bad sometimesWww@FoodAQ@Com
