How to avoid a hangover?!

Question: How to avoid a hangover!?
When I was younger- these were rarely a problem!. I could stay out until 7in the morn, take a shower, grab a bite to eat and head to class or work!.

Now-I have 2 glasses of wine, am in bed by 10 and wake up with a head ache!.

Is there any way to avoid that icky, achy feeling!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I do several things, and I only rarely have hangovers!.

First, I make sure I eat a meal BEFORE I start my drinking session!. This slows the speed the alcohol gets into your system!.

Next, while I'm drinking, I'm also sipping on a glass of water!. This helps to counter the dehydrating effects of alcohol on you!.

After I'm done drinking alcohol, but before I go to bed, I always drink some orange juice (or something similar) in order to replenish my electrolytes!. I might also eat a snack, if my stomach is up to that!.

Usually, I don't wake up with a hangover if I've done these things!. However, if I did wake up the next morning feeling "delicate," I'd drink more juice, take some aspirin, and hopefully have a good breakfast!. also - and this is hard - getting exercise will actually help with a hangover!. I find that working up a good sweat will help get some of the poisons out of your system!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Ask yourself this: were you drinking wine when you were younger!? I find that wine hangovers are always more headachey!. Maybe you need to switch!.

The water suggestions are good - you need to keep hydrated when you drink, cos it's dehydration that mostly causes the headaches!.

I always find it helps to eat something once I've finished drinking for the night, spesh carbs - even if it's just toast!. Sometimes I'll take some Nurofen (or Advil) with my food, guzzle heeeaps of water, then go to sleep and I'm fine! Don't worry about calories - you'd consume more with your alcohol anyway!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There is really no way to avoid a hangover if you are someone who is prone to them but there are ways of reducing the symptoms!. Drinking water is the best form, however you don't have to drink water while you are drinking alcohol, you can drink alcohol and then when you are done drinking or before you go to bed drink a lot of water (when you drink water is up to you just make sure that you do it) and also drink more when you wake up!. The idea is rehydration but also that the water will cause you to eliminate the alcohol from your system!. I get hangovers from just drinking one drink, I have found for me drinking water helps but isn't going to take it away all together, but when I get tipsy if I stay awake until I am no longer feeling the effects of the alcohol I wake up feeling better than if I went to bed while I still felt intoxicated!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
