Because it is a mind-altering CHEMICAL SUBSTANCE!. And, any chemical put in the body will, with time, develop a TOLERANCE!. Then, the more the person drinks, the more they HAVE TO drink!. It's a sad state of the world!. Alcohol is a chemical like any DRUG!. The shakes, the blackouts are all warning signs of dependency!. No-one can foresee when the social drinking turns into problem drinking!. When someone canNOT put a drink down for a WEEK, there is a problem!. Dependency has already set in!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Same reason why people get addicted to cigarettes, exercising etc!.!.!.people get into a habit that's hard to break, then mentally it turns into an addiction!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
