What do you do when you can't get the cork out of the wine bottle?!

Question: What do you do when you can't get the cork out of the wine bottle!?
I'm not enough of a wine drinker to know what to do now!.!.!.I've put the corkscrew in the cork three times, kind of trying to break it up!. I think I've pulled a muscle in my back trying to pull it out (don't have a great corkscrew, because I never thought I'd have need of one)!. What do I do now!?

I WANT MY WINE! lolWww@FoodAQ@Com

Hey Girlfriend! Did you know we own a winery!?

Well, I'm glad you got your wine, and I hope you like that color on your clothes! (Actually, unfortunately it will kind of go to a rusty brown!. And you can take it out most easily with white wine (assuming it was red, otherwise not a problem), so more opening for you! Or you could use club soda or salt, but they aren't as effective!. Or Spray and Wash Dual Power in the tall bottle works well!.)

The push it in answer works fine, especially with an old cork that is falling apart!. Straining through sieve works to take the pieces out, or just strain them with your teeth!

The technique of hitting it with a fairly rigid shoe, or a phone book, or bashing it against the door jamb works also!. My husband remembers well the first week of college being amazing by someone opening a wine bottle with a Birkenstock!

Here's a few links!. Some of them are pretty funny:

Come down to California and visit sometime and we can experiment!. We've got a basement full of wine and lots more the making!

I've been in that position a few times, notably after moving and trying to open a corked bottle before I've unpacked the corkscrew!.

Don't try to pull it straight out, instead rock it from side to side as you're pulling!. In lieu of a corkscrew, I've used a standard 2 inch woodworking screw driven into the cork with a drill/driver, and then prying on the exposed shaft of the screw head with a pair of pliers!. It actually worked pretty good!

If all else fails, simply drive the cork INTO the bottle with whatever is handy!. It's not going to contaminate anything since the wine has been in contact with the cork since it was bottled!. If it breaks into pieces, just fish them out of the glass after you pour it!. As long as it's not some high class event, who cares!? :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Push the cork into the bottle, be careful not to push the wine back out at you!. I have done that!.!.!. Big mess!. And then you can poor the wine out and drink it!.!.!. Cheers! Www@FoodAQ@Com

Ha ha!.!.!.!.!. take screwdriver and push the cork into the bottle!. If its really stuck carefully use a hammer to tap the screwdriver handle!. It will eventually push the cork in the bottle:)
