How long does red wine last once opened?!
I have opened a bottle of red wine and there is only about a glass-full out of it,so there's a lot left!.
It's one with a replaceable screwcap rather than a cork!.
How long will it last!. I don't want to waste it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Great question!. This was problem when I was younger and single!. I'd cook up a batch of spaghetti, pop open a Barbara and only end up drinking a glass or two!. Sometimes I'd finish it within a day or two, or by 3rd or 4th day, I'd toss it!. After much experiment, I ended up "prebottling" half and saving!. Pretty easy step by step if you go and read here:

Generally, you should get rid of your wine after a week, no more, as it will begin to turn!. If you are a moderate drinker, I recommend a "Box Wine!." There are some really good ones for sale now, and they range in price from 11 bucks to 20 bucks for a 3L to 5L box!.
With a box wine, there is a plastic sack (bag) inside the box and a spout that pops out of the side of the box to dispense it!. As you dispense the wine, the bag collapses inside!. No air ever touches the wine! You can maintain freshness for about five weeks in your fridge!.
Great for company too!. I buy them because I can keep them until the next weekend when I have more company, and no wine goes to waste!. also, if you want to chill it, you can remove the bag from the box and chuck it in a cooler full of ice!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
