I know in Australia where the drinking age is 18 that there is a lot less car accidents as people are not trying to hide the fact that they are drunk, instead they call a taxi or organise a designated driver!. What I am trying to say is that there will always be underage drinking and denying that and making teenagers hide that they have been drinking (even if they are experiencing everything else that happens in the adult world) is incredibly irresponsibe by the law makers!. They should lower the age so teenagers don't have to sneak around and organise designated driver schemes or even courtesy buses!. You'll find the same amount of people will be drinking, however, there is a tendancy to be less binge drinking because they want to be drunk before they have to be picked up by adults or drive home so their parents can assume that they are responsible and doing the right thing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It'd take a lot of stupid teen deaths and suffering but in the end, yes I still think it should be lowered!. I think it should be like Germany where you can drink beer at 16 and hard liquor at 18!. When you grow up in Europe, drinking is not a big deal like it is here!. You grow up drinking a glass of wine here and there, its not something forbidden that you want just because you can't have it!. If you can fight in a war and die then you can drink alcohol and die!. To me, that part is just natural selection!. Yeah, I know its harsh but people, even teens, need to start using common sense and stop acting like kids if they want to be treated like adults!. I'm 19 btw and have had plenty of experience with alcohol so far!. =)Www@FoodAQ@Com

if you can get arrested and be charged as an adult and if you can join the armed forces and risk your life for your country, yes, the age should be lowered to 18, because, if we set all these limitations on today's youth, they'll be very tempted to "bend" the rules and act all bad@ss and STILL acquire alcohol underage, so they'll binge and even drive impaired!. everything is to be enjoyed in moderation!. Absolutely yes!. If you can enlist in the military and smoke things that give you cancer then you should be able to drink!. It's bullshit that you can't and look like usual, we are on of the only countries with this high of a drinking age, I believe Japan is second highest at 20!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No!.!.!. there are 18 yr olds on here that don't even know about how a person gets pregnant or are whining about their mommy and daddy being so mean!. Its 18 in Canada and society hasn't gone down the toilet!. You are considered and adult at 18 so you should be able to make your own decisions like if you want to drink and/or smoke!.
