I need help writing a bar scene in a story... what should my character drink?!

Question: I need help writing a bar scene in a story!.!.!. what should my character drink!?
One of the characters in a story I'm writing is an alcoholic, but I don't know what I should make her drink!. I don't drink and I'm underage anyway, so I know nothing about it!. In the scene I just wrote, she's at the bar after a hard day!. What do you think she would drink!? I want it to be something strong!. Thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
She should definitely drink Vodka!. Alot of hard-core alcoholics drink vodka because it "supposedly" does not smell as much on the breath!. It also does not contain sugars (like rum does) which contribute to a worse hangover! If her character is ghetto, just have her drink straight shots of vodka - if she's classy, have her drink a vodka martini with two olives!. Martini's are basically just double shots of vodka chilled!. It's a fancy name for a drink that is designed to just get you drunk!. No mixer to water that baby down :)

Best of luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

If your character is somewhat well to do, a martini!. That's either Vodka or Gin with a splash of vermouth, and with at least 3 olives in it!. That way she's getting some vitamins!. Poor, it's tequila shots with beer backers, and a cheap beer, like Miller!. The beer makes her feel full, that way she doesn't have to eat!. Would like to read your story ! Www@FoodAQ@Com

If she has to get drunk, the only best way is to start with beer and go for hot drinks, like Bacardi, johnny walker red label, black dog, teachers scotch etc!.!. Mixing drinks leads to a real high and that's what some people do, unaware of the consequences!. Of course if your character is a seasoned drinker she can do it deliberately!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

if shes an alcoholic it means shes probably skipped the fruity drinks and moved to the hard stuff!. If shes young, I'd say a vodka on the rocks with a lime twist, if shes older, vodka straight upWww@FoodAQ@Com

Hello,
I was wondering if your person that is in the bar wants to recover or just drowned the troubles that she has in life!.!.I have a couple good ideas!.!.What is the person to be doing>!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

how old is your character!?

older characters would most likely drink gin, scotch, or whiskey

younger characters maybe cosmopolitan or a martiniWww@FoodAQ@Com

vodka or bacardi straightWww@FoodAQ@Com

Red bull and vodkaWww@FoodAQ@Com

Vodka is the preferred drink of alcoholics!. You can't smell it on anybody's breath!. It mixes well with just about anything; coke, orange juice, tomato juice, prune juice!. You can even pour a shot of it into a pint of beer to give it more kick!.

Your character could even put a bit into a glass of red wine!. (kinda like the beer thing) Most alcoholic women I've known were into red wine, although some liked the mixed drinks like Mai tais or Long Island Iced Teas!. There's a lot of alcohol in either of those drinks if they're made properly!.

Good luck!.

Michelle beat me to it!. Yeah, what she said!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

the specific alcoholic beverage is a trivial detail, focus on more substantive areas of characterization, and plotting

and you should always write what you know -- so if you are underage, wait til you get the life experience to write about bar scenes

edit: a lot of published, experienced, old authors don't even know how to write, so don't get in a tizzy; this is why there are literary reviews in Sunday papers, because too many writers focus too much on fluff and not on the meat of the story;

and seriously, if you had enough life experience to write about this particular topic, you wouldn't have to come to a lame site like Yahoo Answers for ghost writers -- when you get done being offended, you might see that, it's just basic common sense!. any "research" an author should have to do, if it is truly pivotal to the plot or characterization, would be on something more esoteric than type of alcohol (like research on the Nag Hammadi for example)!. tell me, how much do you know about being 31!?!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
