Im going to be as honest as possible so please no thumbs down! (cue the thumbs down!)
I live in London, have done all my life!. The nightlife is great (central London) if you dont mind queuing for hours outside and paying six quid for a drink!. Up and coming areas like Clapham are good fun, and I thoroughly recommend the gay bars and clubs (even if youre not that way inclined) for a refreshing change!.!.!.so nice to get out and have a dance with gorgeous, friendly guys without worrying that they have sleezy ulterior motives!
I also lived 'oop North' (sorry, sorry) for a year and can say its mixed bag!. You can have a great night out in Liverpool for about a tenner but its getting to the point where if youre not a blonde Hollyoaks clone, forget it!.
Brighton is great if youre a student as its full of young people, plus some of the best clubs and bars, with fantastic drinks offers etc!.
As for me, at the ripe old age of 28, my partying days are over!. I'd rather have a cup of tea, put the cat out, and eat toast!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Newcastle is good for the locals!.
If you are visiting the UK for party atmosphere then it would probably need to be London!. Due to the large amount of money plowed into the clubs they can afford big names to play at their clubs!. This does come at a price however as it is one of the most expensive cities in the world!.
Alternatively, value for money would need to be Glasgow!. It is also very good and has a great diversity of music and club nights, including world famous DJ sets at venues such as The Arches and Sub Club!.
Ultimately it's probably more about who you are with than the place itself!. I've had some really great nights out in some really not so great places just because i'm with the right people!
