Effectively it's a poison, of sorts!. After all, it can kill you if you have too much of it in your system at once!.

I'm not an expert, though I did more than my share of drinking!. Here though, is my understanding!.
The body wants to rid itself of alcohol, as it simply doesn't belong there in quantity!. Part of that elimination process is urination!. Alcohol also mixes tightly with water, and in ridding itself of alcohol, the body also removes a great quantity of water!.
