there are so many!. the type of red wine also plays a part here for example a Merlot has a good body with fine colour and full taste but is often like most wines a blend of grapes etc!.
Names of some producers can be a guide such as Blossom Hill etc!. More relevant is the country and area it was from and even here we can get false labelling with wines from one country or region being sold as from another (bottled elsewhere)!.
Ideally cost will play a part and anything under a handful of pounds or dollars wil most likely be of poor quality simply because a good wine does have a cost factor in producing it and if its very good will be able to command a premium price!.

There are numerous good red wines, and it all depends on individual taste!. Some are sweet and some are dry and some are in between!. I personally prefer a very dry red imported wine called Chianti!. Almost all of the red wines from California are excellent, however!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
