If your an adult at 18 how come you have to wait another 3 years to drink?!

Because this country is still wrapped up in religious ignorance!. We still have churches that teach it is a SIN to dance!.!.!.!.I can only imagine what they say about alcohol!.
But it is stupid that the government makes you wait till you're 21!. What's so special about 21!? Why not 20!? Why not wait another year and make it 22!?
My cousin's mother was very free spirited and introduced her to drinking when she was 16!. And by drinking I mean 5oz!. of red wine with dinner or an 8oz!. beer while watching a movie!. She's 22 now and rarely drinks!. She isn't against alcohol, but it's not this great milestone that she felt the need to go out and conquer!. She's able to enjoy alcohol without the need or want to get drunk!. Guess what she did when she turned 21!.!.!.she went out to dinner with her family like any other birthday, had a few beers, and that was it!. It was nice, pleasant, and memorable!.
I on the other hand was raised in a very strict household where alcohol was ONLY enjoyed by the adults!. I stood in the corner and watched them as the swigged and guzzled and laughed and kissed!. I couldn't wait! So what did I do when I turned 21!? Went to a bar, slammed as many shots and beers as I could and proceeded to get drunk, vomit, and pass out all in about 3 hours!. Woohoo!.!.!.what a great birthday!.
So yeah!.!.!.once you're18 you can go sign up to die for your country or go buy a pack of cigarettes and start down the lovely road of lung cancer!.!.!.!.!.but alcohol!?!.!.!.Forget itWww@FoodAQ@Com

Because history shows that even though you are classified as an adult at 18, you are still not mature enough to drink!. Beer pong, Beer bongs, and drinking games are a prime example!. These games have one purpose!.!.!.to get drunk!. When you're 18, you haven't developed a tolerance yet and will most likely not handle the alcohol well!. My brother for example, decided to go out on his 21st!. He had partied in college, but thought he was superman!. He ended up in the hospital for 18 hours with a !.486 BAC!. For those who don't know much about alcohol, that's about one beer away from death!. 50% of people don't live past !.40

Why!?
Because under 21s will abuse alcohol when its in front of them because they don't have it often so they sort of want to "make up" for the time lost not drinking!. This results in alcohol poisoning as well as doing ridiculously stupid things when drunk!.
also, under 21s with strict prohibitionist-like parents will try to hide the fact that they drank at a party, thus they will drive home with alcohol in their system, rather than call their parents and tell them they'll be spending the night at their buddy's place because they don't want to drive drunk!. This can result in a DUI, ruining their future due to a criminal record, crashing their car, or killing someone or themselves!.
If you look at statistical evidence, there are FAR less drunk driving accidents for minors in Europe where the drinking age is 16 or 18, than here in the US!.
