Types of alcoholic drinks?!

Question: Types of alcoholic drinks!?
What are the differences between beer, wine, vodka, whiskey, brandy, tequila!.!. etc!? Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Beer: fermented grains (wheat or rice), hops, and malted barley - beer is then filtered, and canned or bottled

Wine: fermented grape juice - red wine ferments the crushed grapes with the skins, white wine has the skin removed first - white wine is fermented in stainless steel drums and bottled immediately, red wine is fermented and aged in oak barrels and then bottled

Vodka: fermented grains (wheat mostly), distilled and purified - really good vodka doesn't taste like anything but alcohol

Whiskey: grains (wheat, rye, and barley) ground up and cooked, then allowed to ferment, distilled, and aged in burned-out white oak barrels - good whiskey has a smoky flavor from the oak and a distinct flavor from the types of grains used - bourbon whiskey is distilled using water from the limestone rivers in the Bourbon region of Kentucky (this removes iron from the water, resulting in a distinctive taste)

Brandy: distilled wine that is aged in oak barrels - good brandy has some of the original taste from the wine, but is higher in alcohol content and has a variety of subtle undertones from the aging

Tequila: The agave plant is roasted to convert the starches to sugar and then pressed to squeeze out the juice - this is then fermented and distilled, and then either bottled immediately (white or silver tequila), aged for up to 2 years in oak barrels (reposado, or rested), or aged for more than 2 years in oak barrels (anejo or aged) - tequilerias use oak barrels that have been discarded by the American whiskey companies (a whiskey barrel can only be used once to make whiskey) - aged tequilas take on the smoky flavoring from the whiskey barrels

Gin: fermented grains, distilled with botanicals added for flavoring - the predominant flavoring is juniper berries, along with citrus rinds, and various spices - gin is very pungent and requires an acquired taste

Rum: fermented molasses from processing sugar from cane, distilled - Rum can have caramel or molasses added for gold and dark rums, or have spices added for spiced rum

That's about all I can think of right now!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
