The trouble with the term alcoholic is it is used as a label to describe the innate person, when often the person has a behavioural problem and the drinking is a symptom of underlying problems, which differ from problem drinker to problem drinker!. So I am all for addressing drinking problems, but not for defining the person as an alcoholic!.

I would take a look at smartrecovery!.org rather than AA!. Of course, your daughter really has to being willng, which, in my opinion, is her business!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sounds like my ex-wife!. She just didn't know when to slow down!. She would start drinking, have another, then have another !.!.!. and, by the time she did stop, she was already drunk!. It's almost more of an obsessive-compulsive behavior that being an alcoholic!. An alcoholic would be drinking and getting drunk every day!.

Some people just have a compulsive personality and tend to binge, whether it's alcohol, food, whatever!. I think her therapist might want to look more into the causes of that behavior before labeling her an alcoholic!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Your daughter!? or you!? or your friend!?
to decipher your run-on sentencing!.!.!.I would suspect that she is immature, or to young to drink or both!.

I would guess that she cannot hold her liquour well, is inexperienced on how much she can drink and winds up mis-guessing and getting lost in the alcohol and when youre having fun- its hard to stop!.

To say that she is an alcoholic- depends if her parents are, if she drinks every day, how much!?, how often!?, to be social!?, to get drunk on purpose!?

the antidepressants may have an effect on her drinking behaviour and not be safe!.

whether she believes them or not- how are we to tell!? we dont know her!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

She might be!. The problem is hers to figure out, deal with and solve!. I would suggest you go to an al-anon meeting (www!.al-anon!.com) to help you understand and cope with what is going on!.

My husband is a sober/recovering alcoholic!. The best thing I ever did for him was to "let go and let God!." Al-anon helped me very much in the beginning!.

Good luck!. I hope your family turns this corner quickly!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

She does not sound like an alcoholic!. She sounds more like a Social Drunk!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

No, she doesn't sound like an alcoholic to me!Www@FoodAQ@Com
