What's your opinion on teen drinking?!

Question: What's your opinion on teen drinking!?
Teen drinking is highly popular at my highschool and I've always wondered--what are other people's opinions on this!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Perhaps I have a biased approach to this question, but I will express my opinion!. As a college undergrad, occasionally I will enjoy a couple drinks!. I also drank a little bit in High School!. However, I feel it is up to the teenager's parents to engage and communicate with their children about drinking!. My mother is not an American, so it was culturally acceptable to have a glass of wine or a beer at the dinner table!. In fact, I have been drinking (underage) with my parents for quite some time now!. Of course I was not getting absolutely hammered, but I would enjoy two or three drinks before going to bed!. Knowing I was a teenager, my parents would always heckle me about the consequences of poor decision making while drinking with my friends!. Drinking and driving for an example, is a topic which even today as a college student, my parents will constantly remind me of it's consequences!.
Today, I feel that the approach that my parents took in introducing alcohol to me and its consequences, has helped me in being a mature drinker and I have yet to get in any trouble from drinking, which I do (drinking) on occasion!. Friends I know in college that were not really exposed to alcohol by their parents tend to be the ones who are getting into trouble due to obnoxious and inappropriate behaviors under the influence!. Parents need to set examples, because underage drinking probably will not cease!.
So to answer the question, I think that drinking is a good socially stimulating activity for older teenagers and young adults as long as the participants are mature about it!. I believe if the drinking age is lowered to 18, as it is in most regions of the world, over time, the hype and abuse of alcohol will decrease!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

You should wait until the legal drinking age!. It's not the drinking that is so bad!. It's the bad decisions that are made while under the influence of alcohol!. Teens are not ready to make some of the decisions you have to make while drinking!. But then again neither are some adults!. In my opinion, strong, healthy, smart teens will wait until they are of age to drink and face the consequences of some actions that drinking can bring!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Im a mother of 4 now!.!. and I drank in high school!.!. yes it is very common and popular!. Athough now as a parent I see all of the things that couldve went wrong!.!. and I saw the mistakes others made because of it!. So now I talk to my kids and I know they prob shrug me off because Im just a parent but drinking causes one to make a lot of mistakes and not think things clearly out!. Sometimes those mistakes are very irreversable unfortunately!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I feel they are unhappy and unloved bye their spouse,or whome ever they care for,of fromm theior world they are in!.
And the only way out of pain for them,is they(Feel)Its the only way out of pain!.
I have seen many teen ager drink, and once you listen too them when they got drunk, you will know they are hurting inside!.
They think it is the answer too Love, wants, and needs, when it really that is not the answer for them!.
So if they have a disfunctional family, they will drink, and my heart goes out too evrey teen ager whome do druggs and alcohol, because it only wreck their Life up,and every one around them!.!.
God have mercy on our teens who drink
Save their soul in Jesus name Amen

I hate to be a hypocrite, as I drank often while in high school!. But, now that I am grown, I can see why its generally a bad idea!. I know I personally did things and got myself into situations I never would have had I been sober!. Luckily nothing really bad ever happened to me, but I know some people really wrecked themselves with that!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i think it is part of teen experimenting!. they are in a transition between child and adult!. they are just trying new things!. the negative comes in because teens are too stupid to know the difference between acting like an adult and being an adult!. ex drinking and driving!.

It's probably going to happen to some degree!.
This doesn't excuse it or make it right!.

Perhaps it should be controllable!. Especially working to keep DUI from happening!. Anyone can make a mistake!. No one should have to die from one!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Almost all young people engage in risky behavior, drink, drugs, sex, you name it!. And almost all old people, like me, deplore it!. It's the way of the world, always has been and seems unlikely to change!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
