Why is getting drunk NOT considered "getting high"?!


Question: Why is getting drunk NOT considered "getting high"!?
Why are folks that drink alcohol not considered high, or drug addicts, or scolded by the media(we just say they are drunk, buzzed or intoxicated)!? DO NOT say because it's safer than illicit drugs because alcohol and tobacco cause the most deaths and hospital visits per year out of ANY social toxin( http://www!.cbn!.com/CBNnews/124781!.aspx )!. Intelligent answers please!.

Definition of drug: A chemical substance used in the treatment, cure, prevention, or diagnosis of disease or used to otherwise enhance physical or mental well-being!.

Marijuana is a hallucinogen!. So, when you're under the influence of it, you're head is kind of floating around!. In other words, you're "high"!.

Alcohol is a depressant, which implies low instead of high!. However, I have seen and heard the term "high" to refer to being drunk (as in "high on wine")!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Why is marijuana legally considered a medicine, but still has a negative stigma attached to it in general!?
