Pussers Rum, still produced the traditional way in Tortola, but exported all over the place, so keep an eye out for it!. This was the rum issued to Royal Navel personnel until early 1970's!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

As an ex RN rating, I feel that the issued rum we used to get had a lot going for it!. In the UK I would go for Wood's Navy Rum and in the West Indies I would recommend Wray & Nephew's Demerera Reserve!. Oooooooo!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Cruzan makes this Navy edition black rum, called Black Strap!. Its almost thick, and smells very similar to molasses!. Its interesting, and still 80 proof!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Flor de Cana from Nicaragua (5 years), it's less expencive than Captain Morgan and much better either straight or with coke / pepsi / dr pepper!.

GOSLING'S BLACK SEAL RUM!!! I think it is to die for, especially when mixed with pineapple juice!.

I'm partial to Cruzan's dark rum!. I don't think it has any bitter finish to it like Meyer's dark rum does!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
