Value of this Champagne?!

Question: Value of this Champagne!?
I have a bottle of Joseph Perrier Brut Cuvee Royale champagne!. It is approximately 25-30 years old and has never been dropped to my knowledge!. I want to pop the cork for this on my birthday, but want to know if it would be better to save it and sell it!.

Here is a photostream on Flikr with 3 pics of it!.

Some old vintages of the Joseph Perrier Brut Cuvee Royale are selling at approx $375!. If your bottle has been properly stored it will probably hold that price!. Personally, I would enjoy my Birthday much more sipping that Champagne than holding it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Champagne is not like wine in the sense that it cannot be aged for extended periods of time in improper environmental controls such as humidity and temperature!. Light can also affect the quality of the product!. Knowing that this wine was not aged in a cave in the champagne region of France for all of this time and that it's quality has more than likely been compromised, I would drink it instead of angering some poor bloke by selling him mediocre champagne for a high price!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Most champagne actually can be aged quite a while due to high acid content!. This is what makes champagne so famus compared to other sparklers like Cava and Prosecco!. Unfortunately, since this is non vintage and you dont have the batch number I couldn't get the actual price!. I can tell you though, that its not worth trying to sell!. A bottle of 98 vintage Joseph Perrier is listed for under $40, which means this brand is not really in the top tier price wise!. It may very well taste better than $300 Krug though, so have at it keep and post your notes to something like cork'd: http://corkd!.com/

Enjoy!. and Happy Birthday!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

The world is in recession/depression who you going to sell it to!? Drink it and enjoy!Www@FoodAQ@Com
