Do my co-workers know I am an alcoholic?!
I drink A-L-O-T!. Do you think my co-workers know this!? I must reek in the mornings!. I am rarely late and alcohol does not effect my work!.Please be honest!. You wont hurt my feelings!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Some might know, if you drank the night before but not the before or during work your probably ok/ they dont care if you drink alot at night!. But usually ppl can tell (especialyl the drinkers) if you drink during or before work, coffee and a mornign shower will kill almost all the smell, but remember often times co-workers or a boss will knw but not fire or confront an employee if they know he has a problem if he/she is getting their work done and being a good employee otherwise!. It doesn't take a lot of alcohol to smell like it the next day!. Coffee, mouthwash, gum are all quick coverups, but the alcohol smell comes out through your pores, not just your breath!. So, chances are they know you must drink quite a bit!. Obviously, you're a functioning alcoholic, but you won't last long like that!. Keep drinking and you will go downhill fast!. Get help now!. I've seen people at their worst with alcoholism and it's not pretty!. In the end, you can actually bleed out as you die!. So, get help!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Usually the last person to notice the smell of alcohol on one's breath is the drinker themselves!. However, if you actually notice it, then others will too!. I worked with a guy just like you!. Because he didn't recognize that he may have had a problem, he used the same convenient excuses you do, i!.e!. "never late/doesn't affect" my work!. Please make sure, before you make a statement like that, that you are actually SURE that nobody thinks that at your job!. With the guy I worked with, we were just nice and cut him some slack for a while, thinking he'd take care of the problem!. He didn't know that he was on thin ice and when he slipped up, we fired him!. And no - NO amount of toothpaste, breath mints, mouthwash and/or air choking body cologne can erase alcohol on your breath!.
In all fairness, I drink!. I rarely drink during the week, however, I will have a beer during Monday Night Football and I like to drink a couple glasses of wine on the weekends!. I had my younger "party days" and did my share!. I just have grown up, I guess and drinking is not the central focus of my life!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Your co-workers are busy with their own lives and are not worried about your problems!. The world doesn't revolve around you in their eyes!.
What you have is a personality of a "Functioning Alcoholic"!. You are able to maintain a job and keep your drinking to a livable level!.
You are being responsible as far as anyone else knows!. You are able to pay rent, drive to and from work (drunk!?) and keep up appearances!.
Not knowing how old you are, I imagine that you have tried to cut back numerous times with no luck!? Right!?
As soon as you head for home you pick up a beer or whatever your favorite drink is!. Put your feet up, watch the game, keep it together (kinda!?)!.
One day you will find that you have liver damage, heart troubles and I sure I don't have to mention your personal life!.

If it doesn't affect your work then it may not be a problem, but if you slip up or start to come in late, they will pinpoint it on that!.
And yes, you can smell it on you the next morning!.
Maybe cut down to the weekends or nights when you don't work the next day!.

Well, alcohol does make you smell if you had a lot to drink, I would be cautious and rinse in the Morning and brush your teeth get the odor out, chew gum, if they see you lack your responsibilities, they will fire you!. Be careful!. Good Luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Honestly, if you have a cup of coffee it will almost always kill the booze smell!. I know from experience because I used to work at a bank and banker's really know how to party!. Not once was there any indication that I was stinking up the vault!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
