Question: can wine go bad if you don't open it!?
can it taste like vinegar after a long period of time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Not only can it, but it will!. All wine will eventually sour, no matter how well you store it!.

Only the best wines can stand up to decades of aging, almost always Cabernet Sauvignon and usually a higher priced wine!.

For your average wines, they'll be good for about 3-5 years if stored properly!. Cool, dark area, on their side!. The refrigerator is appropriate for white wines intended to be consumed within a month or two!.

also, with natural corks, sometimes the seal is faulty!. These wines can be soured in the store, you just can't tell!. Not all faulty corks will lead to a leaky wine bottle, it could just be enough to let air pass through and breed bacteria!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If wine is always kept at the proper temperature, and tilted as necessary, then a good wine can last well over a hundred years!. Check out the auctions where they sell old bottles of wine for thousands of dollars!. If you don't know how the bottle has been handled, then you will have to take your chances when it gets opened!. You should be able to tell by smell or just a little sip if it has gone bad!. It will be obvious!.

Yes it can!.
Especially if it's not stored properly or if the bottle is corked or it's just way past it's time( talking about reds here)!.
White wines start to go downhill after 2 years but would need alot longer to get a vinegary taste!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
