Is yeast dangerous to ingest?!

Question: Is yeast dangerous to ingest!?
A friend gave me some fermenting apple cider!. Would it be dangerous to drink it before all of the yeast dies!? If so, how can I tell that its all dead!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
First off, no it's NOT dangerous, though taking in a good amount of it will probably be having you sit on the toilet later if you consider that dangerous :o!.

Second, ALL the yeast is never dead!. There will be sediment that settle's out at the bottom which is the dead/ and or tired out yeast!. When drinking home made brews, it is basically custom to pour the drink out into a separate glass, leaving the very bottom in the bottle because this is where all the settlement, well settles! There is always a tiny bit of yeast, reason why big company brewers don't have this is because they put their drinks through a whole different process to get rid of the extra yeast!.

I've been a beer and wine brewer for awhile now!. If you have any questions please ask, i love talking about this!Www@FoodAQ@Com

You will likely be able to tell if there is a lot of sediment on the bottom of the container!. These are essentially the dead yeast cells that have died of alcohol poisoning! I don't think it's dangerous, yeast is in a lot of things!. Beer, bread, all the good things!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

live yeast lives in yogurt!. and people buy that in supermarkets and then eat it while it is still alive!. i think you're safe as long as the yeast isn't infected, in which case you may contract a yeast infection, which would be bad!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I doubt it!. People drink fermenting beer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
