Everytime you drink a frozen beer, is the liquid that you can still drink the alcohol in the beer?!

Question: Everytime you drink a frozen beer, is the liquid that you can still drink the alcohol in the beer!?
Answers:
Heh, alcoholic beverages do freeze!. I believe it will freeze at 0F up to around 30% ABV!. You can freeze beer, and wine in a standard home fridge!. (This is why they say not to chill wine in a freezer, you can break the bottle as the water expands)!.

Now, beer is about 5%ABV so that means for every mL of alcohol there are 19mL of water!. The water is what is freezing, since the alcohol freezes at some ridiculously low temperature!. So, it is correct to say that the liquid remaining in a frozen beer is more alcoholic than the original beer, but the liquid will never become pure alcohol!. In the first freeze, you'd be lucky to take a 5% beer up to 8%!. You can repeat this, probably able to get around 10-15% without much trouble!.

This is called freeze distillation, and its how the Ice beers have their 6% content(Natural Ice, etc)!.

BTW, ethanol is the type of alcohol we're talking about!. The density of ethanol is 0!.789 g/cc, and water is 1g/cc!. Simple science (chemistry, physics, your choice) tells us ethanol will float on water, not sink!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

NO, alcohol sinks!. It is heavier than the water!. So you are better to just throw it away or drink a flat beer!. You could however boil the beer that was left over from that night under a large bowl that will gather the alcohol and drip it into plates underneath, but then again, by the time you wait on all that you could have just went on to the 7-11 and just bought another 12 pack!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Stop, stop, STOP! Why is everyone saying "you can't freeze alcohol"!? Did you not remember anything from your chemistry in science in elementary school!? The three states of matter are!.!.!.!.!. what are they!? Oh yeah, solid, liquid, gas! When things are cold they are solid, warmer they are liquid, and warmest they become gaseous!.

ALCOHOL DOES FREEZE!.

Alcohol does have a solid state, just like most other types of matter!. It's just that the solid state of alcohol is achieved at a much lower temperature than the solid state of water (ice)!. Home freezers are cold enough to freeze WATER!. Anything that freezes below that temperature will not freeze in a freezer!.

I forget the temperature that alcohol freezes at, but it's pretty cold!. A beer will freeze in the freezer because there isn't very much alcohol in it!. So will wine!. When you get to 40% alcohol per volume drinks, like vodka and other spirits, there is enough alcohol in there to lower the freezing temperature of the liquid to somewhere below what a freezer can freeze to!.

So basically, I don't know the answer to your question, sorry :) But I just wanted to set these idiots responding to your question straight!. Hope you don't mind!.

Again, ALCOHOL DOES FREEZE!. It just freezes at a lower temperature than your freezer goes to!.

ALCOHOL DOES FREEZE! Stop perpetuating silly myths and think for once! Everyone knows the three states of matter, don't you!?

ALCOHOL DOES FREEZE!Www@FoodAQ@Com

some of the answers here are wrong!. you can freeze a beer!. i've done it multiple times (not on purpose)!. the rest of the unfrozen liquid is the alcohol!.!.!. (should be about 4% of the beer!. hence how the can says 4% alcohol per volume (that's the average beer at least)Www@FoodAQ@Com

first of all, yes beer will freeze and so will the alcohol if it is cold enough!. When you drink the slush, it will contain some of the water and some of the alcohol!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, it most certainly is!. The alcohol is still in the beer whether it is frozen or not!. You will still get the same effect so be careful and keep a level head!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hello

Alcohol does not freeze, that is why russians use cheap Vodka as windscreen washer fluid during there winters!.

Andy CWww@FoodAQ@Com

Yes because alchohol can not be frozen, but the other contents in the beer can be frozen!.!.!.
Vodka / hard alcohol doesn't freeze at all though!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

no i dont think so because the alcohol is so diluted but its true that large amounts dont freeze put anything hard and clear in the freezer Www@FoodAQ@Com

correct, the water in the beer freezes, the booze does not!. it tastes bad!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes because Alcohol can not be frozen!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Ya the only time that their isn't alcohol in beer is when you cook it off!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you shouldn't freeze beer, that kinda ruins it!. but yeah, the alcohol part wouldn't freeze!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I never drink anything frozen>> a would a Palin bar Www@FoodAQ@Com

alcohol doesnt freeze!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes it is!. also Its a blend of water and additional flavors bout %11!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes alcohol won't freeze!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would assume so, it would only make senseWww@FoodAQ@Com

i dunno but why would you wan to drink a frozen beer!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
