It used to be more acceptable ,in the early 80's I was going to pubs and clubs from 15 years old and never got asked for proof of age !.
Now it is more controlled and very strict ,this is a good thing, but I do see another side of it 16 and 17 year olds are lying to there parents and telling them they are staying at a Friends house when they are actually meeting at the local park and drinking ,this scares the hell out of me as a parent because it attracts undesirables an older drug dealers who know these kids are easy prey!.
Parents should always call the friends parent where your kid says they are staying and confirm!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

it changed from 21 to 18 when my nan turned 21, shes 58 now, you do the math :)
