Does wine ever expire?!
I have a bottle from 2004 and it's been properly bottled and all that!. I was just wondering if you would get sick if you drink it!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

For many wines that would be perfect!. Serve at proper temp!. for optimum flavor!. Don't drink too much too fast-that's how wine makes you sick!.
Of all wines, more than 90% are designed to be consumed within a couple years after they are produced!. It's just as possible to age a wine for too long as it is to age it for too little a time!. More expensive wines are usually designed to become better with age!. Most inexpensive wines do not benefit from aging!.
Wine is a complex subject but interesting!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Does wine ever expire, it depends on a number of factors!. What it has been stoppered with, what kind of a bottle it has been stored in, what temperature it has been stored in, and how much light has it been exposed to!. Even a poor quality cork should preserve the wine for four years, I wouldn't be concerned with that!. So if you stored said bottle of wine in a dark, cool, and dry storage space it will probably be better than it was the day it was bottled!. Though even if you didn't store it as such it won't be bacteria that would potentially make you sick but your tolerance to off flavors, bad taste!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
hopefully it should still be good!. Some wines turn to vinegar faster than others!. Some things are only good for the antique label and bottle and to be looked at rather than be opened!.
I am not a specialist and have no special knowledge of the dates that are good for keeping longer or anything like that!. I do know that some do turn!!
You won't get sick other than to get a mouthfull of nasty tasting vinegar if it has turned!. That might turn your stomach also! giggle!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

if it was stored properly, it gets better with age!. that's why, after opening it, in a fine restaurant, they have you try it before pouring a glass full!. sometimes, it turns to vinegarWww@FoodAQ@Com
Stored under the right conditions, wine will only improve with age!. The worst that will happen it will turn to vinegar!. I've made wine which didn't even become drinkable for a year!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
as long as it has not been opened, and stored horizontally to keep the cork wet it should probably be ok!. you will know if its bad!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
No, in fact wine gets better with age!. People pay big money for bottles of 100 yr old wine!. I think 4 years old should be just fine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Not per se, but once it reaches its potential age-wise, it starts to go downhill!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
