How long can you keep cheap wine unopened?!

Question: How long can you keep cheap wine unopened!?
I wanted to buy my 1 year old a bottle of wine from the year she was born and save it for her 21st birthday!. I really like this 8 dollar bottle of red wine (menage trois - mixture of 3 reds - cant remember what types), but want to make sure it will stay good for 20 years!. I know they say wine is supposed to age well, but I though I read somewhere that that is more for certain types, that they make the cheaper wine to be drank right away!. How would I keep it if it will stay good!? Or do you have any reccomendations for a good but cheaper bottle of red wine!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Unfortunately no it will not!. Cheap wine stay good for only about 2 to 3 years and that's if they're stored properly!. Since this is a special gift you shouldn't mind spending more money!. If you want the wine to last that long you need to purchase a very high quality wine, an imported wine from France is your best bet!. It should cost at least $75, probably more!. You'll need to store it in a cool (but not cold) and dry place on its side!. Sorry but that's the way aging wine works!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Don't be a cheap ***!.!.!.buy the kid a decent bottle of cognac!.!.!.It will last forever unopened and will be something a lot more special than wine when she turns 21!.!. Better yet don't buy anything right now wait and see what she's drinking when she is 12, 14, 20!.!.!.then you might get by with just buying a 40oz steel reserve!.!.!.then you can fib and say that you bought it 20yrs ago and save a little money!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

unopened 3 days!.!.after that it wont be any good!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It will not stay good for 20 years!. In fact, it may last only 2-5 years depending on how its stored!.
I would drink that one, and invest in a good wine for about $80 - $100
like bordeaux wines yhat will keep for that period of time!.

You'll have to keep it in a cool, dark place like a closet or such and leave it undisturbed!.
20 years is a long time, my friend!.

Here's a site on bordeaux wines
http://www!.terroir-france!.com/wine/borde!.!.!.

BTW, It's Zinfandel, Melot, and Cabernet in that bottle of Ménage à Trois Red you have!. The Zin is fruity, the Cab is bold and the Merlot mellows the whole mix!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
