I drank for 2 reasons:
1!. To step away from reality and and all its insanity
2!. It releases your inhibitions!. You have no fear and it gives you boldness!.
I often refer to it as "Liquid Bravery"!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Alcohol is a drug which affects the GABA system in your brain!. Drugs which also work on the GABA system include; GHB, valium, xanax, kava kava and many others
The GABA system is the main inhibitory system in the brain!.
When you take alcohol (or a simmilar drug) it binds to your GABA receptors provoking a response!.
This effectively shuts down parts of your brain temporarily (the more you take the stronger the effect obviously)!. To you or me, this would lead to loss of inhibitions and less general anxiety/ nervousness (especially social anxiety) as we stop thinking about the consequences of our actions and are also less likely to worry about the future!.
People find this especially usefull to help them socialise at the weekends as most people are to some degree socially anxious!.
Some people drink alcohol in non-social situations as a way to put off their worries instead of doing something pro-active about them!.
Drinking occasionally with friends is ok!. Drinking on your own is not!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Divine Intervention has hit it on the head!. You can't solve or escape your problems when sober - actually you can't when inebriated, but the point is you FEEL that you can, and that is very liberating!. In the perfect world, we would all be healthy and not need to escape, but where is the perfect world!? So those of us who drink, do so for the reasons given, and much as we wish we didn't need to, I'm afraid we don't have anything else in our toolbox that can help!. So !.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
