What kind of wine do the Italian & French drink daily?!
Answers:
They drink Table wine everyday!!
My wife is from Italy and when she was young she remembers her grandfather would take a bottle to the market every morning and fill it with the local red table wine!. Most of the Europeans (especially in wine countries) drink the locally produced wines!.
In a recent trip to Tuscany I found that all or most of the good restaurants served wines that can only be found in that region and that most of the natives of that area drank only the locally produced wines!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I agree with the previous poster - whatever kind they like!. It really depends on region, whether they are sipping on a glass of wine while relaxing, or if the wine is to go with food (more often)!.
French is much easier because you can limit by region!. In Italy, there are more than 400 varietals, about 200 of which are named, only about 100 of which are even recognised elsewhere in the world!. They have tons more wine regions with their own rules than France does, (and each has different tastes in food too), and each region thinks its food and wine are the best!. In order to to sell their wine as a particular varietal, winemakers have to follow the rules set by the region!. If they don't, then they can just sell it as a regular table wine too - and many prefer just a regular table wine with their meal, so then the possibilities there are endless!.
Look into wine regions for French wines!. They don't list the varietals on the bottle there - just by region, and you're assumed to know whether it is a chardonnay or sauvignon blanc, a cab or a pinot!. Examples of these would be Bordeaux, Burgundy, Rhone, Loire Valley, Provence, Champagne, Alsace, and such!.
By contrast, look at this map of Italian wine regions: http://www!.sienaimports!.com/SI2/region!.h!.!.!. And!.!.!.imagine possibly 10 or more wines under each!. Get the idea!?
What are you trying to do!? If you are trying to find good wine to impress some people for dinner, then give more information on what food will be served, and we can make specific recommendations!. Or, let us know the occasion, personal preferences (light or full-bodied!? dry or more sweet!?)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
