Second link also good which is explains what is absinthe what is that made from etc!.

http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/Absinthe

This two links will give you every think you need to know about absinthe trust meWww@FoodAQ@Com

put a little absynthe in a glass then take a sugar cube and put it in a spoon!. Pour cold water over the sugar slowly till it disolves and then mix it all together in the glass!. It should look cloudy now!. drink it!. Absynthe needs water to "activate it" it should be about a 30/70 mix 30% absynthe and 70% water!. There is a very small amount of worm wood in it though so it doesnt make you trip out like if you were to drink it in europe!. Have fun!. to me it was like being high and drunk at the same time but it does not allow you to go overboard and be completely wastedWww@FoodAQ@Com

It was illegal because it was made from actual wormwood, which is extremely dangerous and no one really knows if all the ingrediants in TRUE absinthe even exist!. Wormwood was a type of chemical, similar to LSD or another hallucinogen, but far more powerful!. Flashbacks were worse and it caused things like seizures, etc!.

Absinthe today isn't really Absinthe!. That is why it is legal and never was illegal!. People spread the rumor that it is, based on not knowing the history and seeing something called Absinthe on the shelves!.

In fact, no one knows the TRUE recipe, so to say, because it was invented by the Mayans!. They drank it to repel evil and to come into contact with the spirits, having living spirit dreams (i!.e!. seeing spirits, which, like the Greeks, is why it is called "spirits")!.

Many times it SUPPOSEDLY was drunk out of a desert fruit that was sweet!. Some cactus, if I recall correctly!.

Anyway, today's fake absinthe is used on St!. Patty's to make Green Dragons, Kamikaze Turtle, and quite a few green drinks because of its color!. REAL absinthe was not really that green like today's!.

Yes!. I am the nerdy bartender!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

its not the same absinthe, the stuff now a'days is just jeger with a pretty lable!. the real **** was made with worm wood, from some weird *** worms, that made the wood halucinagenic!. I believe you can however order the real **** from europe, but i doubt it will be cheap, then theres the shipping cost for shipping alcohol!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It used to contain a herb (worm wood) I believe this over time plus amount drunk sent the drinker mad!. A special Gadget strainer was placed over the top of the glass large sugar nob was used and water poured slowly it turned the liquid a milky look and had a strong aniseed flavor!.PopaWww@FoodAQ@Com

You have a glass half full of iced water!. You have a special slotted swoon (with holes in) which you balance over the glass!. You put a lump of sugar on the spoon and drip absinthe on it so it slowly dissolves!.

Or you drink it mixed 50/50 with cognac!. It's called "Night and day" but in Spanish!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Was it illegal!? Didn't know that!
You can buy a cheap version of absinthe in the off-license near me!. I remember buying a bottle when I was young and stupid and drinking half a litre of it with lemonade!. Not a good idea!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

hey,

yeah from what i know!. you place a spoon or something like that over the glass, with sugar on it, then poor the absinthe over the sugar into the glass!.
