I've made wine and beer at home!.!.!. it can be really good!. The best wine I've made was a merlot!. Picked the grapes myself!.!.!. what an experience!. Some wineries will let you take home fresh pressed grapes if you work for the winery for the day!.

I agree with the guy that posted about mead too!. Mead is a lot of fun to make and it is cool to find a local beekeeper to get your honey from!. You can even find ways to spice it up with other things!. Fresh berries that you picked or that were in season at the grocery store!.!.!.!. even the fruit off of prickly pear cactus makes a great addition!. Do a little research and you can find a whole host of interesting local products at farmers markets that can make interesting meads and wines!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

my grandmother used to make her own wines as well as other brews!.!.!.her family made all their money during prohibition!.!.!.!.she made a honey wine I loved and a dandelion wine that was very tasty!.!.!.!.no idea who got her recipe book when she died but sure wish it had been me!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Very good!. Have him look up info on Mead!. It's a sweet honey wine!. Very tasty, and not hard to make (just don't cap the bottles tight, it fizzes like crazy while it's being fermented!.)Www@FoodAQ@Com
