Can anyone tell me whether or not it is wrong to have a Scotch on the rocks?!

Question: Can anyone tell me whether or not it is wrong to have a Scotch on the rocks!?
I like Black Label on the rocks, but some "aficionado" told me that you're not supposed to do that with Scotch!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
first off black label is a blend, your not going to inhibit or bring out flavors by the addition of water, so f@$k them!. if it was a single malt the right way to taste(not drink)it is to sip it then add a couple of drops of distilled water to "open up the esthers" after that if you want it on the rocks or even with tobasco you've tasted the single malt scotch( not a blend) and you can drink it however you you want( but please not with tobasco)Www@FoodAQ@Com

That is exactly what you are supposed to do with scotch, but if you haven't aquired a taste for scotch or whiskey in general, you are supposed to mix it with water as not mask the flavor but tone it down!. also, JW Black isn't the most luxurious scotch you can get!. Until you get into the $40-50 price range, that is where the real Scotch is like Glenlivet, Macallen, and Antiquary!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you are trying more than one Scotch at a tasting or a Scotch for the first time, do not use ice so that you can learn to differentiate between the various Scotches!. If it's a familiar Scotch, do what you like best!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can drink Scotch on the rocks, on a beach, on a mountain or on a airplane the choice is yours!. You can even drink it with green eggs and ham Sam I am!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Personally I think Scotch tastes like gasoline, but if you enjoy it on the rocks then screw what the aficionado thinks, it's your drink!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I agree w/ Ron, Who to say what's right or wrong, if you enjoy it that way than that's the right way for you!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I drink Chevis on the rocks!.
Do what you want!.!.!.to heck with what others sayWww@FoodAQ@Com

It's your party, do it the way you like it!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
