Which red wine goes with mexican food?!
My boyfriend is coming to town so I decided I was going to cook one of my families traditional mexican dishes which has a mild spicy red sauce!. I want to serve wine, preferable red but Im not a wine drinker so I don't know which wine goes good with this dish!. I would like to know of any particular name or something specific that I should look for in a wine so that it complements the dish!. Any suggestions!? Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would first suggest going to a wine store!.
If this is not possible, then I would suggest a nice Zinfandel!. The berrylike fruitiness of zinfandel complements the peppers and sweet onions!.
Not a white Zinfandel, whick is pink and light, but like a Beringer ZinfandelWww@FoodAQ@Com

I don't think wine goes well with Mexican food!. But I'm not really much of a wine drinker to begin with!.
If he's a beer drinker I would suggest a nice IPA (they're fresh this time of year)!. Something along the lines of Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale, Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA, or Green Flash West Coast IPA!. Hoppy beers go very well with spicy dishes!.
Cheers!.
