Jack Daniels goes well with citrus flavored sodas!. I also get this apple cider soda at Vons and it goes well with that!.
One thing that is surprisingly good is to mix half Jack Daniels and half aged tequila (reposado or anejo)!. Tequila that is aged (not just the white stuff or the gold tequila that's just colored with caramel) is aged in discarded oak barrels that were used to make whiskey!. The American whiskey industry uses American white oak barrels that have been charred on the inside to age their whiskeys!. And, by law, they can only be used once!. So, they sell the used barrels to the tequilerias in Mexico and they use them to age their tequilas!.
My favorite drink with Jack Daniels is one I invented called Captain Jack-O-Nut!. It's a shot of Captain Morgan's spiced rum, a shot of Jack Daniels, and a splash of coconut rum!. Stir together, and serve neat or on the rocks!. The coconut rum brings out the corn flavor of the whiskey and mellows out the burn!.
