What causes the black soot found in whisky distilleries?!

Question: What causes the black soot found in whisky distilleries!?
Answers:
There is a black sooty mould called Baudoinia compniacensis which lives in spirit storage warehouses associated with distilleries!. As the spirits are left to mature, a percentage of the ethanol escapes known as 'the angels share', and the mould lives on this vapour!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It comes from the aging barrels that are charred (burned) on the inside!.
