Non-alcoholic drink which tastes alcoholic? DESPERATE HELP NEEDED?!
This sounds strange but I have a muslim friend who is not supposed to ever touch alcohol, but she picked up someone elses cup at a party which may have been coke + another drink!.!.!.
she left the cup on the staircase as she left!.
She started feeling guilty because she said it tasted like alcohol, so I said I would go back and drink some and see if it did!.!.!.
It does have alcohol
I really don't want to tell her that though, I know its not good to lie but tough!

I think you should be honest with her!. You really owe it to her!.
But just tell her that it was some weird soda that looks like coke, like China Cola or something!. Or say you're not exactly sure what it was, just that there was definitely no alcohol in it and you would know!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There is nothing that could believably be confused with alcohol mixed with Coke!. Trying to convince her that it was something else wouldn't be respecting her beliefs!. She will just have to come to terms with it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There really is no ethical way around this!. Most of my muslim friends believe that if it was a genuine mistake and in the absence of "Intent" to drink there has been no sin committed!. Let her know this!. also, when at a party please please keep your poured drinks with you at all times and never ever pick up someone else's drink!. Let your friend know this and be stern with her (I know you have heard this a thousand times, as had I and thought it would not happen to me, until my friend and I set down our drinks at a party to dance-when we picked it up it was spiked with drugs-which ofcourse we did not know, I thankfully only had a few sips and thanks to a weak tummy threw up-my friend had drank her entire drink and passed out then an unknown guy-a friend of a friend's tried to help and offered to take us home, fortunately I saw a guy I work with and he shoved off the unknown guy and took us home-it could have been so much worse)So please listen to me, more than the guilt she is feeling about the alcohol should be her concern for the fact that anything could have been in that drink and should spur her to be more careful next time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
